Hi

I have just started using Affinity photo and am trying to cut and paste a part of a photo. I have marked the area I want to cut or copy and tried moving it all I get is the outline of the image

with a flashing outline and no image. I have uninstalled   and reinstalled ver 1.8.2.620 (Windows 10) but to no avail probably something silly I am doing but dont know what

have spent hours on this so I would be grateful for any help

Marked how?

I will assume you mean you have used the Marquee tool to make a selection. Here on Mac I have to have a layer selected so the Marquee is actually given something to work with. Now if I just want to move the selection I can hold the Command key (again, I am on Mac so I think you would use the Control key on Windows) and I can then move what is in the selection.

Hold the Command and move the selection.

If you just want to copy and paste then just copy and paste after you have selected the layer in the Layers panel.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
