im new to all this and learning.

iv been following videos on youtube and came across one that im stuck on

if you goto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaDtLXwufNs&t=233s @ 4:17 Seconds 

eg o----------0----------o when i hold ctrl only one side moUntitled.png.5838c3d396abe29fa36fcc2028365f39.pngves so click on the right o but the left doesnt move in syn but in the youtube video that both move.

Welcome to the forums.
On Windows (not sure if it’s the same on Mac) you can hold the right-hand mouse button down while dragging the handle to preserve the handle ratios.

Perhaps: Click the left mouse button first, then the right button, then drag?

You don’t need to press them both together – which can be difficult to do – you just need to hold the left-hand button down and then hold the right-hand button down while the left-hand button is down. When the handles are where you want them, release the left-hand button first, then the right-hand button. The right-hand button, in this case, is a modifier on top of holding the left-hand button down and can be pressed or released at any time while the left-hand button is being pressed.
