MarvinM Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Hello! I have bought a license from Affinity Designer, I use the program a Surface Pro, and the compatibility of the pencil is quite good (it works very well with drawing tablets), I wanted to ask if you can add the two undo and redo buttons in the toolbar or below the tools, since I like to use my Surface Pro as a tablet and remove the keyboard, having these two buttons in the toolbar would help me a lot, and for the whole community with Windows 10 touch screen, also I see that in the toolbar given to the wonderful organization that it has, I think you could add some buttons to allow us to execute a keyboard shortcut like Shift, Space or Alt, Thank You so Much. I miss them too in the desktop version. I have them in every other program I work with (except in Adobe Photoshop sigh), always had, so they are part of muscle memory since 1990? Also, it is easier and faster to reach them and use them with the mouse than to reach for the keyboard and find the keys for undo. There is simply no usability argument for removing them - Serif attempting to keep the user interface uncluttered using minimalism can explain why they have been left out. There are many other buttons I could live without up there - or prefer grouped. Further ... I would like custom buttons that can be assigned a commonly used feature - like print, or export or especially export to pdf. Export is triggered by control + shift + E, paste without format... control + shift + alt + v! Some of these menu items can be assigned a shortcut - but they require several keys pressed. Having expand stroke up there as a toolbar button and not having to remember an exotic keyboard shortcut like control + shift + alt + v + look to the left + stamp with your right foot + blink with your eyes would just be great. 🙂 Sometimes I am simply using the mouse most. pyxelles Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I feel the same way. Don't understand why such a basic tool was omitted. It's highly irritating having to go to the edit menu every time you need to undo or redo something! Quote
timrxnj Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Me too. Finally just bought the publisher. after being a Longgg time PagePlus Fan. And missing the Undo Button is one of the first disappointments. Is this still being developed? Will we see new updates as time goes on? Quote

You don't need to do that. There is a keyboard shortcut which is much more accessible. 19 minutes ago, timrxnj said: Is this still being developed? The software? Yes. The undo button? I would hope they are more focused on features that would actually be helpful. Using the keyboard for this is faster and I find it unlikely that most people in the target market for the product would actually want this. 20 minutes ago, timrxnj said: Will we see new updates as time goes on? Major updates have been coming out roughly once a year, with various minor ones in between. Quote
Matut Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 wow how arrogant. Which part of not having keyboard dont you understand? It's rather annoying that in ios version this functionality is available. If you don't need it than just don't respond. Especially if you have nothing to say. Jowday and HappyLlama 2 Quote

This is a good request. DrawPlus has a super customizable workspace. When working with just a stylus, I'm using completely custom toolbars and workspace where I've mixed and matched items from the toolbox, items from the toolbar, even items from the drop down menus into two horizontal toolbars. Also, I moved the Help menu inside the Window menu, and other things have been moved into the View menu, to create a shorter menu on the top and leave more room for tools horizontally across the top. This is the workspace I created for a tablet PC, but I ended up using it on my desktop with my Cintiq as well. Look at the attached image and notice the two toolbars on the very top. Everything is mixed and matched up there, in exactly the way that I believe I need them to be. Of course, the undo/redo are there as well and can be repositioned, anywhere. Alfred and Matut 2 Quote
aixxo Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I would love to see those Undo&redo buttons in the desktop version! When using a Surface with Pen it is extremly workflow breaking to open the menu to undo. Maybe it would be even possible to add gestures for undo as on iPad, but buttons are probably the best benefit for all! Thanks HappyLlama 1 Quote

Have you investigated the possibilities afforded by the History panel? aixxo Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Thanks, for the welcome. As far as I can see it, is the History only in Designer Persona available, not in the Pixel Persona. Quote

JynXdArts Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I have been working with art programs since the early 1990, and I did not spend $2000 on a Surface Pro so just to fork out another almost $200 for a keyboard, so yeah having the convenient undo redo buttons for quick easy access like I've been accustomed to for so long would be extremely helpful. The history, though less flow disrupting then the menu route is still no where near as efficient. Quote
