asajs4
Hi, I'm doing a fairly simple subtract operation with rectangles and a circle as shown below. The subtract tool is leaving behind unwanted nodes on some of the cuts. This happens if I convert the rectangles to curves as well. Anyone else with the same problem? Or is there something I'm doing wrong. Thanks
Staff MEB Posted March 30, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 30, 2020 Hi asajs4, Welcome to Affinity Forums Do you mind attaching the afdesign file with those objects (eclipse and rectangles) please (you can delete all the rest if there's more). Thanks. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

asajs4
I just noticed the topic had been moved to bugs on Mac OS. Just to note that I use Windows 10, so it applies to that version too. Thanks Edited March 30, 2020 by asajs4
Staff MEB Posted March 30, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 30, 2020 Hi asajs4, I've moved to Windows 10 now but it really doesn't matter since both OS's are affected. MattP 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

I have attached the respective drawing, hopefully it can help with troubleshooting! Arrow lines_expand stroke_problem.afdesign

ChristAlix
Hello MEB, here is a "non-destructive compound" version with the same "bad" result. Arrow lines_expand stroke_problem_non-destructive_add.afdesign MEB
ChristAlix
Hello MEB, just for fun I loaded the "Arrow lines_expand stroke_problem_non-destructive_add.afdesign" file into the new 1.8.3.628 beta to see the non-destructive function and it seems that the boolean function has been improved. Most of the bugs have disappeared! Well done, you are definitely on the "right" way of coding!!!!
