Aubri1013
I just updated Affinity to the latest version hoping it would help but no luck. I am trying to use the artistic text tool to make words on eclipse shapes. I know when you hoover over to the shape with the artistic text tool it is supposed to turn from an A to a T but mine is not changing it is just remaining an A the whole time. I've tried every way possible but it just won't change. Is there something I might have turned off? How do I fix this? Thank you!
walt.farrell
You need to hover over the border of the shape. You have two choices: You can click inside the shape, and you'll just add an Artistic Text layer over the shape. Or you can hover over the border, then click, and turn the shape into Shape Path Text. As you didn't tell us which application you're using, it's worth mentioning that this requires Publisher or Designer. Photo does not support this function. walt.farrell
By the way, Paul Muddit made Mud's Macros available, and one of them will give you an ellipse with shape text in Photo. Or you can use my macro (below) which will turn any selected shape into Shape Path Text. Walt's Macros.afmacros Import it into the Library panel, and you'll get a Walt's Macros category with one macro: Text on Path. Select an object, then run that macro.
