Tlmanty Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 How do you subtract from within a line? I am trying to draw a line with the vector brush tool - adding a thinner one on top - and I don't get the option to subtract - can you subtract from within a line? Thank you Quote
Old Bruce Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Short answer is no. You may be able to get the result you want by first drawing the lines then expanding the strokes and doing the subtraction. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

R C-R Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I'm not sure this would do what you want, but have you considered drawing a second line over the brushed one, setting its blend mode to Erase, & grouping the two lines together? subtract fake.afdesign Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.7 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
Aammppaa Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 @Tlmanty Use the Appearance panel… Draw your line and add your brush stroke. Add a 2nd stroke in the Appearance panel. Set the blend mode of the 2nd line to Erase. Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro
