Cannot paste text copied from another App into Designer

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with pasting text into a Designer document on my iPad. It happens with every app that I try to copy from, Pages, Word, Notability, Notes, etc.  I’m using the same font in both apps, same size.  The result is always the same, PASTE in Designer is ghosted. This has been happening for at least 6 months. It is very frustrating.

i am using the most current version of IOS for iPad, most current version of Designer, have plenty of available storage on iPad. Have deleted and re-installed Designer, same results.

Draw a text box and long press with finger inside text box. Pop up menu appears. Tap Paste. Your text (previously copied from elsewhere) is now pasted inside text box.

@Chris B Chris I suspect this is a bug as the paste option works fine with text in the latest Photo beta. Just not working in Designer. Have provided op a workaround in previous post.

Thanks for the report guys, it looks like its just a case of the Clipboard buttons on the Edit menu being disabled. I'll get this logged with development.

You don't even need to draw a text box to do this - just a long press in the blank area of a document will allow you to paste. :)
