Export Persona Path Component Filename

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this seems too specific, but an additional "path component" in the export persona that will take the filename and add it to the exported filename. So that every time a file is renamed the exported files will carry a unique name without having to rename the slices. The workflow savings would follow as such. I frequently as with others I suppose have base files or starting files that we rework and rename (save as) to a new file. Considering that some of these files have slices already setup, it would save considerable time and reduce a step knowing the exported slices will carry the name of the newly rename file.

I would second this request.  Setting up unique filenames in slice export settings gets tedious when working with multiple versions of a design and is easy to forget.  Currently, the filenames clash with other version exports if not unique so there is a risk of overwriting them thinking you are simply overwriting an earlier instance of the same variation.  A filename variable in the list of predefined variables would solve this as any export filename could be derived from it and the family tree of variations and their exports would be intact.

Something like this?  Path is probably unnecessary if the saved files are relative to the current project folder.  The (only) is to suggest that the specific file extension is omitted.
