I have been experimenting with tables in publisher I've created this league table for a matchday programme. I found when the infomation from was coppied from the league website into affinity publisher it only coppied into the first colum, However I managed to resolve this by copying this information into excel and then re-copying and pasting into Publisher. This worked perfectly however i wondered if it was possible to link the excel spreadsheet to the contents in the table so that it could be updated when the excel file is updated?

You can’t link to textual content in an external file in any of the Affinity applications at the moment.
What you can do, is export your table from Excel to a PDF and then place the PDF linked into your Publisher document. Then, when the PDF changes – when you change the table in Excel and re-export – Publisher will notice the change and the placed PDF should update automatically (as long as you have the correct preference set, see attached image).
This way you only have to format the table once, in Excel.

I am new to Affinity and I confess that I am disappointed that there appears to be no facility to link excel files into Publisher however the pdf option that you suggest can be made to work for me, however I was wondering if there is a way of selecting which page of the pdf is displayed as my pdf document is over 30 pages.

We cannot link them but we can place them if they are .xlsx files. Use File > Place...

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've tried out the place option, but whenever I update the excel file then I have to update the publisher file and place the excel file in again which is a longwinded process when I am doing this many times a day.
