Application of left and right page masters

Recommended Posts

I have a document with left and right pages containing Master Page items.

I had to delete a page with the result that the headings all misaligned (see image). Perhaps this was to do with how the file was constructed??

Also the program doesn't seem to recognise odd page numbers as right hand pages.

It’s difficult for me to understand what the problem is as I don’t know what you expect to see.
All I see from your image is what is there; I have no way of knowing how that is different from what you want.
As a result, I don’t know what you mean by “misaligned”. I also don’t know what your “headings” are.
Would you be able to supply more information?

Yes please, more information will be appreciated. I see an odd page number on the right page, which is common. And where should your headlines (or subheadlines) be placed, inline with the first small column or with the second the bodytext?

In the sample screen save the headings are " Glossy-leafed privet" and "Tibouchina". They should align to the left margin. All text frames are linked (but not across from even to odd page numbers) and on the master page with text inserted on the individual pages.

I worked around the problem by detaching the master page items and moving the text frames for each heading manually. Rather tedious in a 240 page book as the problem started in the second chapter.
