adrm
I created a new document and copied a couple of vector shape layers from another document. In the new document, the Pen Tool pointer has and icon that looks like a light blue circle with a 6-point star inside attached to it. I have no idea what this represents or how it can be deactivated. But in this mode, I can no longer join paths with the Pen Tool. Any idea what this is, and more important, how to get normal behaviour back? adrm
Thanks a lot. I searched, but never hit that page for some reason. Any idea what toggles that mode so I can exit it?
firstdefence
Possibly deselecting the curve layer but also check what modes you have set on the pen tools context menu. Also clicking on a node seems to change the icon and then pressing Esc which deselects the layer. Can’t quite work it out to be honest. adrm
2 minutes ago, firstdefence said: Possibly deselecting the curve layer but also check what modes you have set on the pen tools context menu. That's the weird part: I have not enabled any options on the tool's options bar that I can see. (I've compared settings with another document where this doesn't happen, without noticing anything) Moving to a different curve layer doesn't help, even if it's a freshly created one. Opening the document on another computer gives the same result.
adrm
Hmm... I got it working again by doing Layer -> Geometry -> Separate Curves and then selecting the newly created layer containing the path I wanted to modify. Is it supposed to work like this? I'm willing to swear I have worked on several layers containing multiple curves all day without seeing this issue. firstdefence
adrm
As it turns out, the problem was me (Of course 😀). See this thread: firstdefence
