Early purchase not shown in old account

I purchased Affinity 1.4 back in 2015 from the Apple Store. I was not given a product key.
Nonetheless, I have been upgrading and now have Affinity Photo version 1.8.2.
I wanted to download Affinity Designer and tried to log into my account here at Affinity but there is no record of it.
I then created a new account and made my purchase, but I wonder what my status is with regard to my copy of Affinity Photo?
How can I get my account updated to reflect this program.

Because you purchased originally from the Mac App Store, that purchase will never show in any Serif Store account you may create because the two purchasing systems share no data with each other.

So, how do I get an official Affinity "blessing" for my Affinity Photo?
If I needed to reinstall on a new computer, I would need to re-download.

On a new Mac you would sign in to the Mac App Store using the same AppleID you used for the original purchase, and you would find the program available there for you to install. No new purchase needed.

Thanks Walt! I went to the App Store and there it was.

I don't see where I could download it again, only an "Open" button which, when selected, opens my installed copy on this computer.

You might see it under something labeled "Purchased". But since the store knows you already have it on that computer, it may not be offering a download option.
