Brush category Compatibility between platforms and versions

Just a quick question...do exported Brush Categories have backward compatibility? 
Such as a set exported from 1.8.2 can it be imported into 1.7.3?

Hi StuartRc,

In theory they should work fine however this hasn't been fully tested so I cannot guarantee everything would work as expected due to potential newer features for 1.8 brushes. Please let us know if you run into any difficulties and report them in the bug section.

NB:The Texture Pencil set is the first one I have uploaded since upgrading to 1.8.2..

Hi jmwellborn I would think any issue you come across is worth reporting..It's not a waste of time...The brush set is available in resources to test..
I was surprised you were having issues as we discussed over the weekend. as I believed that while building the brushes some had opened 1.8+ brushes in 1.7+ versions but does not mean that this is 100% the case between differing OS or other hardware..I am happy that you have them now though!
