Hello,

when I create a Document there are textstyles i. e. for Headings or Paragraphs and  when I'm ready with typing, I can change i. e. the fontsize, the space after a paragraph and this changes are appearing in the whole dokument.

Is there a similar way to do with Picture frames where I can safe settings for the border width, shadow, spacing beetween picture and text and so on. Then wehn i place a picture i only need to assing this style to the new frame and after compleeting input and seeing how it looks, I want to change settings on this "picture-style" and give the new parameters to all pictures that have assinged this style.

In InDesign this function is called "objectformats". There it is used for creating textframestyles and pictureframestyles to assing them to frames and change settings afterwards over the whole document.

I've tried it with "Styles" but it doesn't work. And I already searched the forum for 30 min but didn't find an answer - I think the reason is not to  know the right keywords for my query.

Thank you for your help.

I've testet to use the piptte-tool too but this

  1. does not copy the frames borderstyle an shaddow and
  2. then I'm not abele to change settings afterwards for all pictures.

Publisher has Presets for Picture Frames, and you can use Assets to do a similar job, but, as far as I know, there’s no way to have the formatting change automatically on all Picture Frames – those that have the same formatting – when you change one of them.
You can use “Edit → Copy” then “Edit → Paste Style” but the Paste Style has to be done manually for all frames.
I could be wrong but I’ve never seen the functionality to do what I think you want.

Thank you Garry, I'll try to work with an asset and with copying and pasting style but that is a boring job in a project report with 100+ pictures (fotos , diagrams, ...).

You’re welcome.
If you had very basic requirements then putting the frame in a separate document which is then linked into your Publisher document may get you something simple, but you don’t have lots of control, see attached video.
Maybe someone else has a better technique.
