stefanstp08 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 In InDesign i have text on path. When i import the idml file, the text on path is not there. Why? And the other problem: The old idml file can't open in publisher. Only when i resave it new as idml file, then it works. Here the old file https://www.dropbox.com/s/017ye9tuquj8cyo/hochzeitszeitung_v3_cs4-cs6.idml?dl=0 (can't open in publisher) und here the new file (resaved) https://www.dropbox.com/s/lmwud8th7ieghkb/Publisher.idml?dl=1. Thank you for help Quote
Joachim_L Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Same thing on my side. First IDML is corrupted. Second opens fine, but with the text on path missing, so I would call it a "bug". I can't imagine how hard it is to open a file without having feature parity between Indesign and APu, but it works very well apart from some glitches. As for the missing text on path: The path is still there, so you can easily repair this. Definitely something for the developers to look at. stefanstp08 Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 First file ist not corrupted, because in InDesign i can open this file! Strange?!? Quote
Joachim_L Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Are you sure the first one is an IDML? It is way too big for an IDML. Normally you can "open" an IDML with a ZIP tool to see the structure and the files inside. So I would guess the first file is an INDD. Edit: Attached an unzipped IDML to show how it looks inside. stefanstp08 Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 Oh okay, maybe there are differences in which version of InDesign the file was saved as IDML file. I can also imagine that it is not a proper transfer file. Well, then we only have the problem with the path, if that would still work, it would be really great. Quote

Opens in ID just fine. The exported/save as to a new .idml then will/should open in APub. Patrick Connor 1 Quote
Staff Jon P Posted March 18, 2020 Staff Posted March 18, 2020 Importing text on path is something we are looking at implementing in the future, but we are aware for now it's not coming in correctly Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com

Unfortunately it still does not work. Will it come with the next update? It would be so nice! Please please please! Quote
