Although Apple App Store showed Updated Recently, when I clicked on AP About, it showed 1.8.1.  Frustrated I did a restart on MAC and 1.8.2 showed update.

For me, exactly as it was for the 1.8.1 AS & AP updates, initially the 1.8.2 versions were not showing in the MAS Updates page but immediately appeared after I reloaded the page using the CMD+R keyboard shortcut.

Also exactly as with the 1.8.1 updates, after clicking the "Update" button on the AD update there was a long delay before the circle with-the-dot download progress indicator appeared, & a longer delay before the circumference of the circle began to fill in. Currently I am seeing multiple even longer delays with lots of stalls during which there is no significant downloading progress -- after 10 minutes the download is only about 25% complete.

I have a very fast internet connection, so even 1 GB+ MAS updates usually take less than two minutes to download, start to finish. The AD update is listed as ~570 MB so it seems like Apple's servers are struggling to deliver the update in more than sporadic, tiny chunks.

EDIT: AD finally finished updating after about 30 minutes. AP then updated in less than a minute. Weird.

BTW, I bought AD & AP from the Mac Store & Publisher from the Affinity Store. For comparison, Publisher immediately showed me the update notice when I launched it just now. Clicking the "Update Now" button downloaded a ~39 MB patch in a few seconds. It took about a minute for the verification to complete & another minute or so for it to relaunch on my Mac (which is normal).

I've updated from the App Store over an hour ago. I've even identified a bug already.

Please could you post regarding it in the bugs section?

I agree; however, this applies for Affinity products only, as all downloads to iMac program updates or Apps on iPhone/iPad immediate downloads as I have 1 GB internet ISP.

I had posted in the Bug session already.

Designer shows up under Updates in the app store. Publisher and Photo do not show up under updates. If I navigate to the apps in the store it has "install" as an option which updates. It is very annoying as I would not know there is an update unless I go searching for the apps individually in the app store.

Hello,
I can't update to version 1.8.2 of A. Designer from the Apple App Store. I've tried everything.
The updates page doesn't even appear.
If you go to the shopping page, the store shows version 1.8.2 but when I click on update, it just keeps going around forever.
It's a shame that I can't change these updates and centralize them all on the Serif page; then I never had any problems with Publisher.
It is not the first time that there are problems at Apple. And there are always delays.
What to do?
Thanks.

It sounds like you might have an issue with the App Store. Have you tried contacting their support team?

Cannot remember where to find my serial number ,-( Was ordered via Apple 2016.

An app purchased from the Mac App Store doesn’t have a serial number because it doesn’t need one. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID: my understanding is that the download includes an encrypted receipt.

I have no reason to think it would be unsafe!
