dotted lines from table style

In Publisher, how can I use a table to create a group of dotted lines. I've created a one cell table and styled the stroke to dashed. But how can I remove just the side vertical borders, so that is looks like lined paper. Thanks so much.

Hello. The above does not work.

I too have a one column table. 

Trying to format without the outside borders.

Following your steps, but all this does is remove the interior rows.

The answer provided by Joachim_L did not work. Does anyone have the steps to remove outer border in a table ?

You need to select all cells with the text tool to apply a stroke to the horizontal borders between cells.

But is there a specific reason to use a table? There are easier ways to create dotted lines, for instance with simple strokes (curve objects, copied with cmd-J and auto-distributed) or as auto-dots within a text frame as 'leader character' for a tab character.

It's a bunch of try & error to customize a table to look like lined paper in general ...
