LUTS now broken for other iPad apps

Recommended Posts

Not really sure of this is a bug or not.

Since the V1.8 update, users of both Affinity Photo and LumaFusion video editor are reporting that they can no longer load LUTS into LumaFusion, it’s as if Affinity has stolen the capability from other packages. There is a work around for LumaFusion users and that is to share the LUT file via the share sheet to LumaFusion.

I'm not having any issues. Luma was one of the apps I uninstalled before reinstalling photo ( fixed photo unable to load .cube LUTs but still can’t load .3dl). Suggest uninstalling AP and LF, then reinstall AP and LF in that order.

Im using latest beta installs of lumafusion.

I suspect there is an issue with certain combinations of apps permissions accessing same files. My experience with AP and lut access is an example. Whether it is app based or iOS issue is the question.

I agree a Dave, which is why I posted knowing the problems you had. Perhaps IOS only allows one app to own a specific file extension and the concept of general purpose file extension doesn’t exist other than for PNG,JPG,TIFF etc which many IOS apps can access. This particular one I tested was .cube which like your problem a greyed out in LumaFusion now after installing V1.8.x AP.

i will see if uninstalling and reinstalling Luma fixes problem or just passes the problem back to Affinity..

EDIT: No re-installing LumaFusion did not fix it, .cube files are still greyed out in Luma, accessible only in AP. I never signed up for Luma beta testing and I can’t find any reference how to now I think they stopped adding testers a while back.

I uninstalled both apps. Did a hard reset and then did the reinstall of AP, then did the load lut. This seemed to assign ownership of LUTs to AP.  Then I loaded Luma.  While this did fix my cube lut access it didn’t help with 3dl but, I didn’t try to load 3dl before reinstalling Luma. Maybe that makes a difference?

Update: After updating both Photo and Designer to latest issues, Lumafusion no longer recognises LUTs. This worked ok with beta gm but stopped with AD AP upadate.

@Paul Mudditt Paul, If the lut is listed in 'Recent' rather than 'Browse' it becomes available. The issue I was having accessing LUTs in AP has now (since updating AP) switched to effecting LumaFusion. Weird indeed.
