Oh these are lovely drawings and nice, quirky brushes.

I just (right now) bought Affinity for some photo editing. I didn't realise it could do all of this.

I need to get one of these drawing pads I've seen and get on this.

Thank you.!

If you haven't already....Have a look at Affinity Spotlight it will give you an insight into what can be achieved...

This one is entirely raster based but you should find the applications extremely versatile especially when combining raster and vector drawing! but it does help to have a drawing tablet...I don't think I would be able to achieve this with a mouse:)...especially my mouse..which has a mind of it's own sometimes!

Great artwork. Organic shapes require a lot of tedious and time consuming tinkering, which is visible even without the vector outline view. AD allows to create very complex and realistic art, that is much more difficult to do in the programs of the competition. I've worked with those both professionally and privately for decades and I estimate working with AD saves artists about 1/3 of the time. And thanks again for the great brushes.

Yes! organic shapes can be difficult to deal with...partly because there is so much variation....but equally a great source of inspiration if you get stuck for ideas...I totally agree with what you say about AD...I just cannot leave it alone!:)...Other software simply just does not have the flexibility to combine vector and raster...in this way...and you can get some staggering results.. and it is definitely much quicker...

I have been using this brush set a lot recently..I only created it because larger drawings were harder to work with small ink brushes...unfortunately I changed them significantly in the process!O.o
I created the pencil brushes so I didn't have to keep switching back to Sketchbook ..well to sketch! ..But... I am looking forward to some new features for 2020..check it out (here) A flexible ruler..eek!..I did see a thread in the forum recently requesting these types of tools..

It's not just the initial drawing that can be done way faster in AD, but adjusting things afterwards - compared to mesh-fill techniques - takes significantly less time than in AI or CorelDRAW. And when re-scaled to a (much) larger size, the techniques available in AD result in sharper images as well, because mesh-fill is basically a translation of pixel art into vector objects. Some time ago I would have liked AD to have mesh-fill capability, but after fiddling around with object blurring, gradient colouring and transparency and the fx functions, I do not miss it at all. One thing that may be useful to create projects even faster than is the case already now, would be the possibility to feather shapes and strokes, because blurring also affects the transparency of objects, which feathering doesn't.

Absolutely!..AD is much faster...AI just had too many 'clicks'/tool changes to get things done...always swapping between Pen/Node tool to adjust the curve...Mesh tool I was never a fan of...it was so easy to mess it up!...Freeform gradient tool looks interesting but that suite of applications is history for me now...so sort of irrelevant.

I must admit I am not using the Fx layer functions that much at the moment...but the adjustment layers..that is a different matter incredibly useful and powerful..for lighting effects and colour adjustments..
