No beta available please use the Publisher 1.8.2 Windows release build instead

Status: Beta
Purpose: Stability and General Testing
Requirements: Purchased Affinity Publisher
Windows Store: Not submitted
Download: Download
Auto-update: Available

---

Hi,

We are pleased to announce that Affinity Publisher Customer Beta 1.8.2.619 is now available as a download from the link above.

If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.

This beta is an incremental update to the 1.8.0 version recently released to all customers (though it installs parallel to the release). We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.

Oh, and if you are reading this on day of release, happy cat day!

---

StudioLink: We have updated StudioLink to ignore the 'patch' version when checking compatibility. StudioLink should be enabled if any corresponding version 1.8 product is available.

I can't understand why a RC has such severe bug(s) in vital areas. Crash at export means what? No testing? Sorry for being so negative.

Just found another way to freeze Designer… ☹️

Not sure I see the relevance to this Publisher topic :)

Oops! 😁

Lost track of the which forum I was in for a moment.

Interesting that the same sequence (in the Designer Persona) does not crash Publisher. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not able to run it. It asks me for my email and product key, and when I enter them, tells me they aren't valid.

I verified that I'm entering the correct email and product key. I didn't have this problem with the last beta.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forum.

Usually the beta doesn't ask for a product key. It would only do that if you don't have the retail version installed (from either a Serif or Microsoft Store purchase).

If you have multiple Affinity products, are you sure you entered the product key for Publisher, and not Designer or Photo? You can verify your Publisher product key if you purchased the retail version from Serif by logging in to your account and looking at your Downloads & Product Keys.

I wonder if I need to uninstall the previous beta?

No, the new beta overwrites the old one.

Thanks for the reply. That didn't happen for me. Installing the new beta didn't overwrite the old one.

I just tried uninstalling both betas, and reinstalling the latest beta, and still the same problem with email and product key. I give up! I'll just wait for the final product.
