[Fixed] Designer (trial) can't find installed fonts on SVG import

Recommended Posts

On opening svg files in Affinity Designer, very often I am confronted with a warning that font "xyz" is "missing". Some of these apprently missing fonts are standard fonts already installed on my system (Trebuchet MS anyone?).

How can I cajole Designer into "installing" these missing fonts?

Thanks for reporting this with the sample file. It looks like the SVG has set the font family name to the font's postscript name. That's contrary to the SVG specification, and if I open the file in Firefox the "Arial-BoldItalicMT" draws as a serif font, without bold or italic attributes. However, Safari and Illustrator do recognise the postscript name, so I'll change Affinity to do the same.
