Cannot 'Undo' when using 'Artboard Tool'

When I use the 'Artboard Tool' to crop a cover (to produce a PDF/JPG of the front only), I cannot use ⌘Z to undo back to the full version … it just leaves it cropped. The only way to avoid the issue is to close without saving and then re-open, which is obviously a little impractical.

I'm using the Mac Store version 1.81.
