artnok
Why is it that pathfinder behaves like that? I've already noticed some issues in previous builds. Pathfinder would behave strangely transforming sharp geometric shapes to approximative paths. Right now, with the latest version it gives me very strange results. And it is very very very annoying... Makes me re-open Illustrator for such basic things, what a pity. designer-pathfinder-issue.mov
Staff Sean P Posted March 9, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 9, 2020 Hi artnok, Unfortunately there was an issue with boolean commands that has caused a lot of simpler geometric shapes going wrong. This has now been resolved by development available in the beta below (which is due to be released very shortly).
mediumcheese
The pathfinder is completely broken for me in 1.8.3.641 Windows. Here's what happens when I use 'add' on a simple oval and trapezoid. Kind of an important tool to have fail this badly. Please fix.
Staff Sean P Posted April 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 15, 2020 Thanks mediumcheese, I've passed this on to development - if you flip your Trapezoid horizontally using Layer > Transform > Flip Horizontal you should find the operation works correctly.
