Affinity UI becomes sluggish over time.

I've been meaning to query this for months…

As I use the Affinity Designer the responsiveness declines over time.

This is not just limited to complex operations like snapping to geometry (which I would anticipate might take longer with more shapes to consider) but the actual interface of the software too.

The following screen captures show the Shape Tool flyout menu, and a right click menu appearing. In version 1 the software has been running for over an hour. In version 2 I quit the app, an restart it.

Both versions have the same file loaded.

 < Slow and juddery.

Does anyone else experience this?

I tend to restart Designer (not the PC) every time I notice the slow down, but this is hardly an ideal work flow!

This is a new computer (built December 2019) and no other apps are affected by the slowness.

I've not noticed this myself - is this still an issue for you using 1.8.2?

I have also noticed this!..
With constant use the app does slow down...To the point where you have to deploy a restart...Oddly that is exactly what I have just had to do...
Been working on updates to the hatch brushes (essentially converting them to 1.7/8 brush engine to take advantage of the sub-brush)...I feel it's related to the constant switching between tabs and copy and pasting objects between open files...I have had the situation where I am waiting for the app to respond to copy/paste/select or typing into text boxes.

Consider that on my sample sheets, there are a lot of vector elements.
