Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @cmmdmx.

Your workflow isn't quite clear to me, so perhaps you could clarify it a bit.

  1. You have the Publisher with several Linked (?) Photo and Publisher documents in it.
  2. You select one of those documents, and use the Edit Document button, or double-click on the thumbnail in the layers panel, to edit the document in a new tab.
  3. You have a group of some kind of paths (example, please?) that you copied from another document, and pasted into this one. You're dragging it into a picture frame (?) via the Layers panel.

Thanks.

Is there any possibility of getting screenshots of any of this, or a sample document that demonstrates the problem? Or a screen recording?

Hi!

Thank you very much for the fast reply! :)

1. Yes, I meant linked documents, sorry when some expressions are wrong, I use the software in german language...

2. Correct, I'm editing one of those documents in a new tab inside publisher

3. Also correct, there is the group of paths - and a picture frame where i want to drag the group of paths into (in layers panel). As soon as I'm releasing the mouse, the application freezes and I have to close it via task manager...

I've attached a screenshot of the group of paths I'm using.

The problem is reproducable on my machine with different groups of paths and different picture frames.

Hi!

Steps to reproduce:

- Download attachement Zip & Extract

- Open "frame.pub" in Publisher
- Open "group-of-paths.afphoto" in Affinity Photo
- Inside Publisher, double click the "inside" linked document to open it in a new tab. It should contain one picture frame element.
- Inside Affinity Photo, select the group, copy it, and paste it somewhere in Publisher inside the "inside" tab.
- Drag the pasted group on (not under) the picture frame. A restriction group appears hierarchically between the picture frame and the group.
- drag the group between the restriction group and the picture frame (one step upwards in layers-panel)
- the application crashes

I'm currently on another machine than on sunday - there the application did freeze, here it directly crashes. Maybe this is not exactly the problem I had on sunday, I have to check it coming weekend. But it also is a Bug I guess... 🤔 and may result from the same Bug inside the code :)

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Max

@cmmdmx Do you mind re-uploading the archive? It seems to have become corrupt and after repairing it i'm unable to get the inside afpub file out of it.

You can upload it here if it helps

Thanks
