Hi all,

I'm a new Affinity User.

I'm really glad having switch to AP, very good application.

Because the new DxO Nik release, I'm considering buying it version 2.5 (now compatible with AP)

My question is:

what is the suggested RAW workflow with Nik plug-ins?

Do I need first to develop RAW files in Develop Persona and then switch to Photo Persona and from there use the Plug-ins?

Or is better using Nik during developing the RAW files and, at the end, switch to Photo Persona?

Thanks for any suggestion!

Yes, you must develop your images into 8-bit or16-bit before using the Nik plugins. (Filters > Plugins > Nik Collection ...)

Hello:

I usually develop my raw files with Darktable and sometimes with the AP develop persona just for basic adjustments. Then I open the file in the photo persona, duplicate the layer, remove dust spots, crop... Then rasterize & trim and use the nik collection. Be aware that to use the nik collection images have to be 8 bit.

Nik HDR eFex pro can work with 32bit files.

I didn't suggest that because some users get confused when none of the other filters work in 32bit 😀

Yes it is a bit confusing.
