coral Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Language selection settings in Auto-Correct section in Preference Panel are not saved. I save the language setting in Turkish and exit the application. When I reopen the application, the language setting returns to English. pref.mp4 Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Whenever you open Preferences, Autocorrect, the language displayed will be the User Interface language. But that has no effect on the documents you create. Publisher allows you to specify autocorrection settings for any language you have installed for spell-checking, and it supports documents that are written in several languages. You could have a document written in Turkish and English and French, for example. Each word or phrase or paragraph could be in a different language, as determined the Language specification in the Character panel or in the Character or Paragraph Text Style in use. All that the autocorrection settings say is, if you're entering text in English, make a certain set of corrections. If you're entering text in Turkish, make a different set of corrections. If you're entering text in French, make another set of corrections. Etc. But the Autocorrect preference does not specify the language you're entering. That's all controlled through the Character panel or the Text Styles.
