Didacticus Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I really like Affinity Designer, but I put my device's safety first above all. So, why is it marked by Malwarebytes extension? Quote
GarryP Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 What was the path you were following which got you to this message? If you are getting the official software from the Apple or Microsoft App Store, or from the Serif website, then the software should be completely safe to install. You can get the trial versions from the Serif website and they should be safe too. I don’t know why you are getting this message. Maybe you could ask the Malwarebytes people and they could contact Serif if necessary. It’s probably not in Serif’s best interests to have its official downloads ‘blocked’ by ‘overly-protective’ security software, if that is what is happening. Quote

GarryP Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 By ‘path’ I meant ‘sequence of actions’; I should have been clearer. In other words, what actions did they perform to get to the point where they got the message? That path does look slightly strange but I don’t remember what happens during a trial download. Quote
IanSG Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Cloudfront is an Amazon content delivery service. I'm fairly sure I've seen it before when I've downloaded Affinity s/w. Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10

I still have it on my Macs but I learned long ago that it is unable to tell the difference between actual malware & things that are completely harmless.
