Flaming Pear has a Photoshop plugin called India Ink which might help get you close to your example.
It works in the current AP and you can try it for 15 days free first.

I loved Flaming pear plugins like when I was on windows but now I'm on Mac I can't readily use them because they are unfortunately windows only.   I stand corrected they do Mac versions as well 👍

You can create a very similar style with Filter Forge.

Vectoraster is great + generates all vector lines that can be opened up in Designer and coloured up - works great for screen printing spot colours for t-shirts https://www.lostminds.com/vectoraster7/

Not sure? But I found India Ink around 5 or 6 years ago now maybe. Although the older Mac version could fall over at times the current one so far has been rock solid for me.

just installed the demo, I like the wave style when used on a high contrast image. I might see if I can emulate that in Filter forge. There are filters that are close though so I might just tweak one of them.

Yes, i just decided to spend my money on it, after having played with it for quite a while. It's a one trick pony, but it's very good at doing this trick. A nice complementary piece of software to Affinity.
