R C-R Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 The title pretty much says it all. My hope is that it would be easy to implement, since by changing the extension from .aftemplate to .afdesign or one of the other native format file extensions QuickLook displays the file. garrettm30 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I came to this thread because I wanted to see if anyone else is requesting better QuickLook support for Affinity documents in general. If I am not mistaken, Affinity is not doing any particular support of QuickLook at all, but rather QuickLook is just enlarging the document icon, which is a thumbnail of the first page. It's better than InDesign, where the document icon is generic and so has no preview value at all, but a larger preview where text is readable and previews of subsequent pages would be nice. But maybe I'm asking too much, since the quick solution would be some kind of preview image saved into the file (so increased file size), or the not quick but quality solution would be some major QuickLook support that could understand the Affinity documents, which would probably be far too big of a task that would outweigh the benefit gained. thomaso Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 3 years later… By now, I would expect Quicklook to preview all pages of an Affinity document, as it does by default with .pdf, .docx, xlsx and video or audio, for example. Oddly, this QL plugins collection seems to be quit in 2021: https://www.quicklookplugins.com/ … while this github project is a request only: https://github.com/QL-Win/QuickLook/issues/1260 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
v_kyr Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Never tried that out, but "aftemplate" files should be already supported, as the "Info.plist" file inside all Affinity apps "Quicklook.qlgenerator" folder lists those file extensions ... ... further it's peanuts to add other Affinity file extensions to that XML based plist (it even contains fh10 + fh11 extensions). They are, to the same extent the other Affinity file extensions like *.afpub or *afphoto are.
