[Mac] QuickLook plugin support for aftemplate files

Recommended Posts

The title pretty much says it all.

My hope is that it would be easy to implement, since by changing the extension from .aftemplate to .afdesign or one of the other native format file extensions QuickLook displays the file.

I came to this thread because I wanted to see if anyone else is requesting better QuickLook support for Affinity documents in general. If I am not mistaken, Affinity is not doing any particular support of QuickLook at all, but rather QuickLook is just enlarging the document icon, which is a thumbnail of the first page. It's better than InDesign, where the document icon is generic and so has no preview value at all, but a larger preview where text is readable and previews of subsequent pages would be nice.

But maybe I'm asking too much, since the quick solution would be some kind of preview image saved into the file (so increased file size), or the not quick but quality solution would be some major QuickLook support that could understand the Affinity documents, which would probably be far too big of a task that would outweigh the benefit gained.
