thegary Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Affinity Designer, my presets don't save and basic brushes are gone As the title says. If i go to bushes and select the BASIC brushes. All are gone but 1. Also i made about 15 presets for easy setup. When I reopen DESIGNER this morning they are gone. Any thoughts? walt.farrell Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 What release of Designer are you running, on what OS, and where did you purchase it? If you're on 1.8.0 on Mac you should probably upgrade to 1.8.1. thegary 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Lee D Posted March 9, 2020 Staff Posted March 9, 2020 @thegary Check the following locations if you have updated from 1.7 to 1.8: Windows: The first location is the installed directory (.../Resources/Affinity Designer/) The second location is inside the user data folder - the location of which depends on what type of application they have (see below for Designer's). This location stores any custom brushes that have been made or imported, and any customisations to the default brushes are also stored in here. These are also kept inraster_brushes.propcol and vector_brushes.propcol, so when the app loads it loads the files from both locations. Note that if it cannot read those from the install directory then you will see lots of blank spaces in the Brushes Panel where the default brushes lived - I believe you've had this with other users before where a repair fixed the problem. thegary 1

Thank you for your reply @Lee D I have located the (.../Resources/Affinity Designer/) directory. The files you mention are there. I am not sure about the user data folder you mention. You also mention a repair fixed the problem. What do you mean by this? Thank you Gary Windows 11 Pro, Ryzen 9 7950x, 64GB DDR5 6000mhz, Gigabyte 5090 32gb, Dell 38inch curved monitor.
