DaSquirls
Hi there. My computer is a very new build with modern hardware, but HDR merge instantly kills Affinity Photo as soon as I add the photos and click OK. It just closes within about a second with no error message. Same thing happens whether I try to merge RAW, JPG or TIFF files. Affinity worked fine previous to upgrading my PC (though it was an older version), so I'm thinking there are 3 potential scenarios: 1) Compatibility issues with new AMD CPU chipset 2) Compatibility issues with Nvidia RTX 3) Bug in this version of code PC Build: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.79 GHz 16 GB RAM (DDR4) Nvidia RTX 2070 graphics card
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @DaSquirls. Sorry to hear you're having problems. It may also be helpful to Serif if you confirm the exact release level of Affinity Photo that you're running, and possibly whether you purchased it from the Serif Affinity Store or the Microsoft Store. Staff Chris B Posted March 5, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2020 Hey DaSquirls, I've just tried to reproduce this with RAW, JPEG and TIFF files but I'm not seeing any crashes. I threw over 20 raw files at it at one point and it was slow but it finished. Are the files you've tried all from the same camera? It may be worth attaching the source images if possible. Do you get a crash report at all? Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
DaSquirls
All files are from Sony A7 Rii. I'm just trying to merge 3 x RAW files, was using latest version of Affinity Photo, it was 1.09 but I just upgraded to 1.10 today and exactly the same happens. It isn't dependent on which RAW files I use, I've tried loads of different ones - so there may be no point in sending you the files. In case it does help, you can download a sample set from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsJ4vwBQ0y59hcBJ_N_67WpOFdoo1Q?e=l4QWe7 I don't see any crash messages, the app just suddenly closes. Is there a log file somewhere that I can look at? Have you tried to reproduce this on AMD processor?

Staff Chris B Posted August 13, 2021 Staff Share Posted August 13, 2021 Hey DaSquirls, Running an HDR merge in the 1.10 retail version completes without issues for me so I would be inclined to agree that it isn't file specific. I haven't tried on an AMD processor however I suspect it might be related to something else. Do you have Capture One installed? Crash logs are here: Affinity Store version - Go to %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports\reports You can acccess the AppData folder by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard and then just type %AppData% Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials

DaSquirls
Hi Cool. Buy Aurora HDR, it works at least. These guys can only assist by saying "it works for me so it must be something on your side". LOL.
