Paulson
Hi Folks, Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Is there an easy way to draw an arrowed line similar to the one in the attached photo? TIA.
Old Bruce
You could try making a brush. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Aammppaa
Do you need it to turn corners? Or do you literally need what is shown? If as drawn, then it is just a bunch of arrows sitting in a row, which is very easy using Power Duplicate. Paulson
Hi, thanks for the replies. Yes, I will need the line to turn corners. What I’m trying to do is draw a line on a map, with arrows indicating the direction of travel.
G13RL
Hi paulson, You can draw the curve, duplicate it. With the upper curve selected, "Layer", "Convert to Text Path". Take the "Artistic Text" tool, double-click on the "Lower" or "Upper" glyphs in the "Glyph Browser" tab of the Studio to insert them at regular intervals along the line. If necessary, adjust the height of the baseline so that the glyphs straddle the line. Aammppaa

GarryP
In addition to G13RL’s technique – which is very clever – as Old Bruce said above, a custom brush should work. My example in the attached video is very crude and can be improved with proper planning and experimentation. If you’re going to be using this a lot it might be worth putting the time in to make it as easy to use as possible. 2020-03-05_13-59-29.mp4
Paulson
Ahhhhh......thank you GarryP......that looks great. As a complete beginner I've never created a custom brush before. I think I'll give that a try. Thanks again.
