basilic
From the Text Frame Studio palette, in the General section, for the Fill and Stroke Colour selection, it'd be better if we could get a % value of the opacity when the slider is moved, as in the standard Colour Studio palette. walt.farrell
It will probably be quite awhile before Serif gets to this. I'm sure that if they do it it it will be mentioned in the beta that implements it, and probably in the release notes when it makes it into a retail release. There's no need to spend time testing it on each release that comes out (feel free to, of course; it's just not necessary, in my opinion). I do agree with your request, and it has been requested a number of times in the past. sportyguy209
+1 I just came upon this issue. Want to set opacity for the background color of a text frame, but the settings for opacity only provide a slider. I'd like to be able to set opacity by percentage so all the opacity of my frames will be exact and not based upon guesswork. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to include a percentage in most of the dialog boxes, but leave it out in others. It would be like only showing sliders for color selection with no associated numbers. 😞
carl123
If there's a specific need to set a precise percentage fill for a text frame it can be done but you just have to do it another way for now. 1. Create a Rectangle 2. in the color Panel set the Fill to the color and percentage you want 3. Layer > Convert to Text Frame You can save the resulting Text Frame to assets if need be and rename it so you know what percentage Opacity was used. sportyguy209 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. sportyguy209
Hello Carl123: Thanks, perfect! Yes, that sounds like a workaround that will work. 🙂 But, as I said previously, if Affinity can provide fill options with percentages in some dialog boxes, they should make them available in all of them. I hope they are working on adding them. Wosven
fde101
You can also adjust this in the Color panel if you switch to the Fill Tool and set the "Context" to "Fill" "Frame" (instead of "Text").
