I purchased Photo, Designer & Publisher 1.7.3.481 a short time ago.
All run great on my PC. Simultaneously I might add.

Intel Pent 1.50GHz
8 GB Ram
Windows 10 Home 1903 64-bit
1TB HDD
1920x1080 display

Today I updated to 1.8 and it wouldn't start. None of them would run. Splash-screen would pop-up then nothing. Just stop starting. On all of the 1.8 updated apps.

Did complete uninstall and install of 1.8. Still wouldn't start.
Did complete uninstall and reinstall of 1.7. All are running without problems right now. Photo, Designer and Publisher.

I have no clue why my PC will not start any of the 1.8 apps? I have nothing else running and nothing installed since the Affinity 1.7 Apps.

We’ve had several reports from users that after updating to 1.8 on Windows their app is no longer opening, We believe it may be related to fonts and our developers are currently investigating. When we have an update we’ll let you know. I'm sorry that you're having this issue. If you’re using the Affinity Store version, you can go back to 1.7.3 if you need to use the app in the meantime.

@DWright Any chance the Ver 1.8 failure to launch is related to the Ver 1.6 failure to launch problem I've been describing at

hi @Griffin Lane I just wanted to let you know that we have released a new beta build for both Affinity Photo and Designer on Windows that will hopefully improve/fix our apps from crashing on startup when loading fonts. Can you download and install to see if the app(s) starts without any issues?

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have released the new update, 1.8.2, that fixes the issue users were having where the app wouldn't get past the loading screen because of fonts. If you purchased the app from the Affinity Store you can download the update from:
 
 
If you purchased the app from the Microsoft Store the update will be available to download from the updates section.
