Status: Beta

Purpose: Features, Improvements, Fixes

Requirements: TestFlight Acceptance

App Store: Not submitted

Hello,

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the second beta build of Affinity Photo 1.8.2 for iPad.

If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.

This beta is an incremental update to the 1.8.0 version recently released to all customers. We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.

Have tested, Sony files

opening RAW from Photo, opening from cloud, importing from iCloud, opening from an external SSD, all working smoothly and quickly..

These files were RAW only, and were also uncompressed 122mps images from a Sony a7r4

the only issue I saw was that if I drag and drop the image from files, the load takes longer and the finder shows only a black image, but when clicked it opens to Develop Persona perfectly.

i also tested Save a Copy to my external SSD that worked perfectly.

A comment,

I first started using AP for iPad with my first generation iPad Pro.   It was pretty exciting, so I decided to blow my full year of lunch money and 5pm cocktails to purchase the iPad Pro 12.9 6gb 1T.

From the start the app wasn’t perfect, I joined the beta program (probably not too helpful) because I felt that this was going to be an exciting journey for the developers and the community.
It is just that.

This app is now running ‘just like butter’.  Yes there still are annoyances and miles of innovation to go, but damn, AP is an awesome app for the iPad.

Can not give enough kudos and thanks to the development team who work so hard to produce all of the Affinity apps, on such diverse platforms. As well kudos to all of the mods and community contributors that are so patient and helpful along the way.

👍
