Publisher 1.8.1 crashing with IDML file

Recommended Posts

AP 1.8.1 crashes on macOS (10.14.6) with an idml file downloaded from a digital print company as template for photo books. Double clicking the file launches AP which crashes immediatly. Importing the file into an existing project (add pages from file...) causes the crash as well. A bug in the idml parser?

Please see enclosed file and crash report

Kind regards

Chris

Was going to second this, since I'm looking to move from InDesign to Affinity Publisher. But crash crash crash while evaluating how IDML works with Publisher. Will eagerly await 1.8.2

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

1.8.2 is already available.

„5 times in 30 minutes“ – telling the crash frequency won‘t allow the developers to solve the issue. Sharing the IDML file probably will …

Fair point and will share file with tech support. Wouldn’t post on an open message board.

@Squarebear We will indeed need to see this file, as the couple of files we got from customers that crashed on open in 1.8 got fixed in 1.8.2, so this is likely something else

Please upload it here and let me know when you've done so, it will only be viewed by serif staff.

Thanks
