Samolevsky Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Hi, I've updated to version 1.8.0, and it seems like Lock Layer feature doesn't lock individual elements on this layer anymore. All elements on locked layer still can be selected or moved by accident. Should I lock each individual element on the layer to avoid unwanted transformations? I guess Locking the entire layer should lock each element on this layer by default. Thanks predick 1 Quote
Jetdriver Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 (edited) I noticed this behavior myself after the update both on iOS and on Mac OS X versions: items on a locked layer can still be selected by marquee and transformed. The only way to avoid this is to make the layer invisible. Edited March 1, 2020 by Jetdriver Quote
Staff Gabe Posted March 4, 2020 Staff Posted March 4, 2020 Hi both, I logged this with our developers. Quote
Qaddis Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I resolved this issue by unchecking ‘Edit all layers’ from the burger menu in Layers Studio. If this is unchecked by default would be better. Quote

ksk Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I am having a similar problem in version 1.8.3.641. Windows version The symptoms are as follows. Scenario 1 With, - Edit All Layers OFF - All layers locked - All layers visible OR Not Use Marquee select (Move tool, click and drag) All items in the most recently selected layer are selected and will be deleted with the delete or backspace key (corners and midpoints of bounding box are circles) Scenario 2 With, - Edit All Layers ON - All layers locked (even when individual items are locked within a layer) - All layers visible Use Marquee select (Move tool, click and drag) If the Marquee is clicked far enough out, all items are selected and will be deleted with the delete or backspace key (corners and midpoints of bounding box are Xs) If the Marquee is clicked closer in, the result is variable. Clicking and draging close in to an object with the Marquee may not select the object the first time but will on a second or third try. Scenario 3 As Scenario 2 but with layers NOT visible, the Marquee will not select anything. In effect, the layers are not lockable when using the Marquee except in Scenario 3. This behaviour is a serious problem generally and in particular when wanting to select items from a number of layers but leave others in place. It doesn't seem to make sense that items on a locked layer can be selected and deleted. Many thanks. Quote
prophet Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Likely related, but with a locked layer selected, I can File > Place an object without receiving a warning. Quote
