PDF drag and drop to open freezes

On 1.8 and continuing on 1.81 if I open a multipage PDF by dragging it from a finder window onto the main editing screen the popup PDF import window is not visible. 

By looking at the list in the dock icon, the pop up is open (and greyed out) but it is not anywhere visible on any screen. It is not hidden just off screen etc, it simply appears not to be drawn on the screen. 

If force quit the app, because all clickable buttons will not work without first confirming the popup, and I drag the same PDF onto the pages panel to open it, the pop up * usually appears and all works as expected.

I can't seem to reproduce this. Do you still get this in 1.8.2 and if so can you make a short video demonstrating it?

Hi John, 

I've just logged in again after a while, on 1.8.2 and I've tried a few similar PDF's and all now seems to function as expected.
