Affinity Designer und Photo lassen sich nicht starten

Hallo, seit dem Einspielen des neuen Updates 1.8.0.585 wird der Start von Designer oder Photo nach kurzer Zeit abgebrochen.

Wenn ich eines der genannten Programme starte wird es nach ca. 5 Sekunden ohne Kommentar abgebrochen und geschlossen!

Das Problem ist leider nicht temporär sondern ständig vorhanden, das Programm ist damit nicht mehr nutzbar!

Make a copy of your Affinity USER Directory --- NOT the Program Directory.

Then rename the *.propcol files (for assets, raster brushes and vector brushes)  in the submenu      .../Affinity/Photo/1.0/user       and           .../Affinity/Designer/1.0/user    

Now run one of them.

Then you can bring back the renamed files one by one and start the program after every restore of a file. So you can check, which file is the bad one.

To question 1: I have a font manager installed but I never use it.

To question 2: Since installing the update I have rebooted the computer several times without success, affinity works or does not work as it should.

Nach der Installation des Windowsupdates habe ich den Start der Affinity Programme getestet.

Was soll ich sagen, sowohl bei Designer als auch bei Photo wurde je 10 mal ohne Probleme gestartet/geöffnet.

Die alten Probleme scheinen wohl auch an Windows gelegen zu haben.

Könnt ihr das eventuell auch mal testen?

habe mich leider zu früh gefreut!

Mein nächster Test ein Foto im Verzeichnis mit der "öffnen mit" Funktion in Affinity Photo zu öffnen scheiterte. Seitdem ist leider das alte fehlerhafte Verhalten mit dem Abbruch nach 5 Sekunden wieder vorhanden.

My next test to open a photo in the directory using the "open with" function with Affinity Photo failed. Since then the old erroneous behaviour with the abort after 5 seconds is unfortunately back.

Hi @Schorsch I just wanted to let you know that we have released a new beta build for both Affinity Photo and Designer on Windows that will hopefully improve/fix our apps from crashing on startup when loading fonts. Can you download and install to see if the app(s) starts without any issues?

thanks for the information.

Here the test report:

Designer 1.8.1.610 (beta)

12 normal starts, the program is opened 12 times without problems

3 starts from a directory with "Open with", the program is opened 3 times without problems and the file is loaded.

I just wanted to let you know that we have released the new update, 1.8.2, that fixes the issue users were having where the app wouldn't get past the loading screen because of fonts. If you purchased the app from the Affinity Store you can download the update from:
 
 
If you purchased the app from the Microsoft Store the update will be available to download from the updates section.

thanks for the information, got version 1.8.2 yesterday via the normal update function.

Now it works again with the start! 👍😁
