Hi Oval,

If you've already reported an issue to us before then there is no need to create another thread telling us it still hasn't been fixed. If the release notes had mentioned specifically that it had been fixed then by all means, but it has not.

I've looked at the report with development and can see that it has been closed as By Design.

Thanks! If not reported again, nobody would know that Serif is not interested in not working buttons and claiming this is by design. Incredible design, because you need two further clicks (click to close the start screen again and the preference close button that you already clicked on) to start work. Just as astonishing those still missing basics for other languages in the help. Well, we know: By design!

In fairness, it's really only 1, because you don't need to close the Welcome window. It will go away by itself (at least on Windows) when you open or create a file.

But it does seem like an odd design choice, I agree.

@Sean P: If it's intentional on Mac that the Preferences dialog reopens on the restart, then the Windows version has a bug, because it does not reopen on Windows after the restart. I'd prefer to think that the bug is on Mac, though :)

If you want to close the preferences (what you already did but what you need to do a second time because of the Serif apps) you need to close (or drag) the welcome window to see the preferences dialog.

Ah. Thanks. I didn't understand that (since Windows doesn't work that way).

Just an observation,
but if one closes the Preferences window using the Red traffic light button, not the Close button, the auto restart window is not offered.
Now Quit and restart the app manually.
Any desired changes requiring a restart will still take effect but the Preferences window will not be automatically reopened.
