marmite
I've just upgraded to 1.8.1. I opened an existing afpub file, which suggests preflight issues (red bell). If I try and export then the "Preflight warnings" dialog is displayed. If I click on "Open Preflight" nothing happens; i.e. I don't see the Preflight panel. If I double-click the red bell I don't see the Preflight panel. Am I missing something? I'm on Mojave 10.14.6.
Old Bruce
Can you call up the preflight panel by going to View > Studio > Preflight. marmite
I'd just come back to the forum to say just that ... I'd found that option and it works; including showing the panel from the two scenarios in my OP. But thank you for the quick response at this time of night Surely this should have been enabled by default though? Especially as a touted new feature. PaoloT
I'm on High Sierra, APub 1.8.1, and have the same issues as the OP. Manually opening the Preflight panel works fine. Paolo
John Fleet
Ditto - clearly this is a bug - no point having an 'Open Pre-flight' button if it doesn't actually do anything. 1.8.
Staff Jon P Posted March 5, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2020 Once you've manually opened and closed it does the button then function? If not, can you hold down CTRL whilst opening the app and let me know if the button then functions? John Fleet
update - now the Preflight panel no longer appears when I go to export.(I do have the Studio/Preflight/Export button selected)...
marmite
23 hours ago, Jon P said: Once you've manually opened and closed it does the button then function? Yes. Interestingly, when I first reopened the app to try this out this morning, the Preflight panel did not display, even though I had found the menu option to display it after my OP. However after turning on the panel via the menu, the panel subsequently worked correctly even after re-opening the app. So effectively, having been through that cycle again, I am now unable to reproduce the error. Edited to add: "Working" refers both to the button on the export dialog and the preflight bell in the bottom left of the window.
