Affinity Designer 1.8 is crashing when opening an older file directly, but also a newer file when scrolling down in the layers.
When scrolling down the layers it seems it always crashes when a specific layer becomes visible in the layer view.
I can provide crash report when necessary or the file itself.

I am using Affinity Designer on a Mac with macOS 10.14.6.

It is curial for me to be able to work on the existing file.

Hi JensW,

Welcome to the forums :)

Please could you provide the file that is crashing on open so I can look into this further with you?

Thanks

Just to confirm this file was made in 1.7.3 and not the 1.8 beta?

I did not had 1.8 beta installed. I could be that the file was originally created with 1.6.x but last changes was made with 1.7.3.

I can also provide an additional file where I have the same issue.

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Customer file created in 1.7.3 crashes on open) of the program in the latest release.

The fixes and how to update are described in these forum posts.

We would appreciate you checking that this issue has now been resolved for you,
