yancire Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 hello, I plan to change the computer platform, because I’m more and more dissatisfied with APPLE and MacOS; I dislike proprietary or closed Systems, and APPLE appears to perfect that with the change from Intel- to ARM-processors. By the way I can’t find a new expandable APPLE computer for a reasonable price. I still use a Mac Pro 5,1 with Radeon RX 580 and all AFFINITY apps with Mojave. Now, after AMD offers really powerful CPUs, I plan my first WINDOWS-PC, and I like to know which graphic-card is necessary at least or "comfortable" to work on with AFFINITY apps on WINDOWS. Do the AFFINITY apps use or support NVIDIAs "CUDA"; is there a beneficial effect on using NVIDIAcards? Are AMDcards useful too? thanks for your replies, Jens Quote
Staff Callum Posted February 26, 2020 Staff Posted February 26, 2020 Hi Yancire, As long as your GPU meets our minimum requirement of Being compatible with Direct X 10 it should work fine. We don't utilise the GPU as much as other components so the rest of the cards specs don't make as much difference. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
