Hi Everyone,

my AD just broke down. After restarting it, all my objects have flipped 180 degree. They are upside down - standing on the head.

I can transform them manually by rotating all objects 180 degree, but the thumbnails in the layerpanel stays flipped. It's a little confusing.

How can I fix it? What has happened?

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot

Ok, something weird is going on. I restarted AD again and then the problem was fixed. Closed the file afterwards and started it once again, it was all flipped again. Very strange.

Hi FabPas :)

I too have not heard of anything like this in Affinity before! Could you please provide a copy of the original file?

Are you using Windows or Mac?

Do you remember the action that caused the app to crash originally?

Hi @Dan C and @GarryP

I thank you both for your support!

Garry: It was rotated by 180 degree. If I would have fixed it by mirroring I had to mirror it vertically and horizontilly.

I think the originally crash was caused by overloading my RAM. I had several programs open - for days, without shutting the laptop down. Well the system (Win 10) didn't crash, but AD did. In case of AD i didn't even saved my file, because it was just for practicing (I'm an AD newbie) and my first trial. It was restored automatically, when AD collapsed.

Two other facts I didn't mentioned:

1. When I opened the file after the crash, not only the object was flipped, even the workplace was totally zoomed out (like a 1% zoomview), so that my A4-sized file had a mini-thumbnail view.

2. I had three unsaved files (in tabs) opened in AD (for two other parallel trials), but only in this specific one this error occured.

Don't know if this facts matter.

Even though i worked with the renamed file since then, meanwhile the original file opens correctly. Yet i have attached it here. Let me know if it will open correctly (it should show my initials F and P).

Greetings from Cologne

Thanks for your file Fabian - I've tested this in a few builds on both Windows and Mac and the file is opening as expected for me, with the correct rotation and a sensible zoom level.

Software 'hiccups' do happen, and I suspect this may have been one of them. Have you experienced this issue since, either with this file or another?
