DreamThinkLive Posted July 15, 2015 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Hi, Has anyone noticed a difference in color of the raw file in AP and that same file in PS? How can i be sure i'm getting the correct color from the adjustments I'm making? Just curious because when i try to process in AP the images don't come out as great as i believe they are in PS. JimGoshorn Posted July 15, 2015 Share Posted July 15, 2015 If you white balance the same image in both, they should match. Remember when white balancing to not use a pure white (256 in R, G, and B). In PS the image looks lighter and in AP its darker and the skin seems to have a more warm/red look to skin as well. Even thought the settings are the same. Don't get me wrong, when i first open the raw it looks better in AP but I'm so used to seeing it in PS and correcting it how i want it. But i'm just curious if i can trust what I'm seeing on the screen to be correct when i hit the develop button thats all. Because they look different without any changes applied. Set Tone Curve setting to take no action. Sometimes this auto stuff can throw things off. Hey that seems to help! Now its darker than photoshop. But i'll mess around with it to see how it works out. Because it seems i have to bring up the exposure slider a bit to have it look like it does in photoshop without any adjustments. But i kinda of like it this way because it looks closer to the raw file in the finder than PS. But i'll mess with it and let you know!
