Ma3rk
I'm finally getting back to making renders in a 3D app that can output to multi layered EXRs. When I bring them into AP, the layer order is consistent but reversed from what I'd like. In the Layers panel, they appear to be alphabetical, top to bottom. Is there a preferences setting to change that or a script for the Arrange functions?
Staff Callum Posted February 24, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 24, 2020 Hi Ma3rK, Welcome to the forums We don't currently have any preference settings you can change for this I'm afraid. Hopefully we will improve our support for these files in the future. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. Ma3rk
Thanks Callum. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a setting somewhere.
Ma3rk
I asked on the DB&W Discord and Michael Wolf replied that he was pretty sure that internally, OpenEXR sorts alphabetically. Which would mean AP is simply opening in the files order. There might be a way of naming layers in Lightwave that can accomplish this so they're already sorted upon output. Will know more tomorrow.
