Petrho Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Hi, I’m trying to export my work in designer for iPad as pdf. But it does not work. The wheel at “Generating export...” never ends spinning and no pdf is generated. Why is nothing happening? Best regards Peter Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 21, 2020 Staff Posted February 21, 2020 Hi Petrho, What are the dimensions of the PDF? Have you tried restarting the iPad and try exporting again? Quote
Petrho Posted February 21, 2020 Author Posted February 21, 2020 Hi Stokerg, I have have now restarted my iPad but it didn’t help. The dimensions are 2182,7pt X 3174,8pt. Quote

Which make and model iPad do you have and can you upload the afdesign file and i'll see if i have any trouble exporting it here. To see if it is a size related issue, you could always try resizing the file to half of the above values and then exporting again. Petrho 1 Quote
Petrho Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Thank you for the suggestion. However reducing the size by 50% didn’t make any change. I have an iPad Pro 11”, 512 GB. Here you have the file. Kattegatt_Copy_Copy.afdesign Quote
Paul Mudditt Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 By trial and error turning off each layer, the problem seems to be these three dashed lines, PDF export works without them, very strange. Wosven Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Yes, same result here. You can dupplicate and convert the stroke to curves, and you'll be able to export to PDF (keeping the original strokes hidden for further modifications later if needed). Petrho 1 Quote
Paul Mudditt Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Fixed it by modifying those curves like shown, this is one for the development team but in the mean time here is your design now fixed. Thanks for helping me find that! Yes, that seems very strange! I guess it’s some kind of a bug. Quote
Petrho Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 Hi again, Those curves are quite important to my image. But it seems impossible to export them as pdf. I have tried to remake them in different ways to see if it would be possible but still no success. I have now removed everything but these curves and they seem to be impossible to export. Very strange indeed! Any suggestions? curves_not_possible_to_export_as_pdf.afdesign Quote

I also uploaded the fixed .afdesign file and also a pdf version. Looks like you downloaded the pdf version but you have not downloaded the fixed afdesign file yet. VARION Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Hi Paul, thanks for your reply - it helped a lot. We figured out which strokes were affected and managed to fix or redraw them. It seems to be a strange bug in the current version of AffDes/iPad. I hope there will be an update soon. But for now the fix works. Quote
