inJEANious_671 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Hafa Adai / Hello from Guam! Our college switched from Adobe to Affinity for economic reasons so I'm learning along with my students. How to you get a pallette to SHOW after separating it from the stack of pallettes? In Adobe it's under the Window menu. Much thanks 0 Nita Cepeda Visual Communications Instructor Quote
GarryP Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Welcome to the forums. The different “palettes”, if I have understood you correctly, are called Panels in the Affinity applications. You can show or remove them by using the “View → Studio” menu options. If this is not what you want then you might have to give a little more information. Quote
jmwellborn Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 @GarryP do you think @inJEANious_671 might not yet have discovered that VIEW>Studio>Swatches Panel includes the palettes? When I was first learning I kept having to remind myself about that. Just a thought?? Think it might help? GarryP Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 That’s quite possible, though the mention of having a “stack of palettes” (multiple) and that what they were looking for were in the Windows menu in Adobe products gave me the idea that the OP was looking for panels or windows of some kind rather than the colour palettes, but I could be wrong. Maybe the OP will get back in contact to say one way or the other. P.S. I think the “Studio” menu option in the View menu should be renamed “Panels”. They’re called Panels in the Help so beginners may be more likely to look for Panels in the menus rather than Studio. That’s just my opinion though. jmwellborn 1 Quote

I think that is a very good idea, but a change they probably won't make because it has been named "Studio" for so long. jmwellborn 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.7 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
GarryP Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Yeah, I can’t see it changing now either. It’s not a massive problem, just a slight niggle I have with the UI. jmwellborn 1 Quote

There are, though, other things that are called "panels" that are not part of the Studio (or, at least, not part of the View > Studio UI). The panel that comes up to show the progress of a Batch job in Photo, for example. Or the panel that shows up in Publisher when you use the Place Image Tool and select multiple images.
