I'm curious why when I attempt to place an SVG, reduce its size onto text or a rectangle the subtract operation yields a different result.

In the attached image I placed an SVG image onto text and then reduced the size of the image. I then subtracted the SVG image from the text.

Then I placed the same SVG image on the rectangle, reduced its size and then subtracted the SVG image from the rectangle.

As is apparent when you reduce the size (admittedly quite a bit) of an SVG and then subtract it from text and a shape such as the rectangle the results are quite different.

In the rectangle version I can reduce, rotate, and generally monkey with the SVG and the results when subtracting is predictably clean.

Whereas when subtracting an SVG from text I'm severely limited as to how much I can reduce the size of the image.

Note: Of course solid images are optimal when using the subtraction operation on text, but if there is any detail in the placed SVG image and it's reduced, game over.

Suggestions?

Hi nullpointer :)

Could you please provide a copy of the .svg / .afdesign file in use here please?

Are you converting your text to curves before the subtract operation?
